Point of View: Esperanza versus Isabel
“I can describe how the points of view of Esperanza and other characters influence the
description of events.”
How would our school look to an ant? What about to someone flying overhead in an airplane?
If you really did not want to go to school this morning, how would you describe it?
A person’s
point of view or perspective affects how they see and how they describe things.
Please read the first two paragraphs of the chapter “Las Cebollas” (page 100).
Does the description in the book sound like it is through Esperanza’s eyes or Isabel’s eyes?
How would it be different if Isabel were describing it?
Your task:
With your partner, you will both take turns recording a Flipgrid acting as Esperanza or Isabel describing what the camp looks like in their eyes. Remember, justify your ideas with evidence from the text! When you are finished, please post your Flipgrid to this discussion.
